Here’s how we protect your personal information.

Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with GDPR and other Online Privacy Protection Acts instituted by the United States of America, Canada, California, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Virginia, and all other state, local, and/or Federally mandated regulations. We, therefore, will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

We also keep all of your information in a secured location and will always maintain electronically stored information in an encrypted manner. Any interaction online between you and online servers and/or websites, owned and operated by Trusted Villages®, will always be encrypted to ensure your privacy. Any and all backups made by Trusted Villages® are also encrypted for your privacy.

If, in the extremely unlikely event, any of your personal information were to ever be breached, Trusted Villages® will notify you as soon as possible as to the nature and scope of the breach. Please contact us if you require any additional information concerning this matter.

What personal data do we collect and why?

Cookies

Like most other websites, we use cookies. Cookies are small files stored on your device which help maintain your session states and preferences. They can also be used to store other information particular to you about your online interaction with our systems. Currently, we only use cookies to store your preferences and settings; help with sign-in; combat fraud; and analyze site operations. Rest assured that any cookies generated by our servers are stored on your computer in an encrypted fashion such that only our servers can access them.

Cookies are generated by web servers and stored on your local device. They are generally intended to be retrieved ‘as needed’ by the original generating web servers. Unfortunately, sometimes third-parties may try to gain an understanding as to the layout of a given website, and a user’s information, by attempting to retrieve and analyze cookies generated by other websites. In these instances, the cookies on your local device can be exploited for purposes of marketing, or other types of undesired activity, if they are not securely generated. We protect you against this type of exploitation.

Rest assured that all of Trusted Villages® corporate servers will only communicate with your devices via encrypted mechanisms, like TLS & SSL, and we will not send or accept any cookies that don’t use these secure mechanisms to protect your privacy and the integrity of both your and our systems.

Embedded content from other websites.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How we use your information.

Any information we collect from you is only used to return a request for information instigated via a webserver request form submission or ‘as needed’ to perform tasks which you have asked us to perform on your behalf. We may also use your information to improve and personalize the solutions and services we offer.

Do we share your data with any third-parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any of your personally identifiable information to third-parties not affiliated with Trusted Villages®.

However, we may sometimes use subcontractors to assist us when needed. On a case-by-case basis we may determine that disclosure of your personally identifiable information is required for the given subcontractor to perform the duties to which we have them tasked. If this situation does arise we always enter into a legally binding agreement between the subcontractor and Trusted Villages® to ensure your personal information remains confidential and secure.

We may also release your information if compelled by law.

How we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information. For example, you will note that any access to our systems requires a secure SSL connection. You can ensure this is the case by looking at the address bar of your browser where you will note an indicator confirming you have a secure connection. (This is usually indicated by the presence of a closed padlock.) We also store all data on encrypted disks. So none of your information, be it on the wire or on a disk, is ever in an unencrypted state.

There are many other measures we take which we will gladly explain further if you desire. Simply call us at our main number, (833) 732-8547, or request additional information via our online Contact Us form, and someone will be able to get you any additional information that you seek.

How long do we retain your data?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights do you have over our use of your data?

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where do we send your data?

Any personal data we may store on our servers is encrypted. This data is frequently backed-up on other servers or devices in our secure data centers. Sometimes periodic backups are taken offsite for safe storage in case of unexpected disasters within one of our data centers. These offsite backups are also encrypted and kept in secure locations. Your data may also be securely accessed by our team for analysis and may also be accessed by other organizations but only upon your approval.

Third-Party Products and Services

Occasionally, and at our discretion, we may utilize third-party products or services to improve our understanding of how are services are being utilized. We may also utilize third-party products or services to improve your experience on our site. However, we will never use a third-party product or service in any way that does not at least meet the same standards as ours in terms of data protection and Internet access security.
